Bangladesh merchandise export in January was US$4.41 billion. She earned 0.50% lower export comparing same month of the last year. The country experiencing negative export growth in five of last seven months. The fiscal year to date earning was US$28.41 against US$28.96 of last year, as reported by The Financial Express on 3 February 2026 that reflects 1.93% negative growth.
The newspaper also reported quoting industry sources that Germany and France are among the major destinations in the European Union (EU) where, apparel faced a setback, being undercut by big peers in their shift away from the tariff-walled United States.
