Bangladesh received US$ 3.13 billion in April 2026 as wage earners remittance. The figure was US$ 3.75 billion in previous month and US$ 2.75 billion in April 2025. The country experienced a year-on-year growth of 13.8 percent and a decrease by 16.5 percent from last month amid ongoing West Asia War and energy crisis.
The country received US$ 29.33 billion during first 10 months of the current fiscal year, which was US$ 24.54 billion in the same period of last fiscal year, an increase of US$ 4.8 billion in the current year.
Average monthly remittance in current financial year stood at US$ 2.93 billion, which was US$ 2.45 billion in FY25. April 2026 remittance was 200 million dollars more than current financial monthly average due to upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.
Historically we experienced high remittance flow before eid-ul-fitr and eid-ul-adha, the major two religious festivals of the country. Expatriate Bangladeshis send more money before these festivals to their dear ones that make our country’s religious festivals colourful.
